Cured of Bipolar Disorder

Dayne Kamela was delivered of bipolar 1 through God’s mercy

While in college, Dayne got into personal development books, and these triggered within him grandiose delusions. He grew convinced his destiny was in Hollywood, as an actor and also as an evangelist. Taking his sister’s car, he set off for Hollywood. A minor accident failed to bring him fully back to reality; in a manic state, he started running along the highway toward his goal. Eventually, the police arrived and took him to the hospital.

Dayne was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 after a psychologist did brain mapping on him, citing the results as evidence for the disorder [FYI, this psychologist appears to have taken some liberties because bipolar is not diagnosed with any sort of medical tests.] He also received a diagnosis of ADHD at some point.

Dayne’s mother was very supportive, convinced her son would not be sentenced with mental illness forever. Dayne’s faith in Christ was strengthened. He did take psychiatric medications and attended therapy. However, not even a month later at church, his mother encouraged him to go up front to get prayer. When the pastor and pastor’s wife prayed for him, he noticed his hands shaking. At the end of the prayer, Dayne distinctly felt when the spirit that had caused his mental illness left him. He was, in that moment, healed, and at the time of his testimony, he has been free of mental illness for more than a decade!

Youtuber “Word of Life” found healing from bipolar disorder in Christ

This next testimony of healing from bipolar comes from the creator of the Youtube channel Word of Life. Since I do not have this man’s name, I will refer to him as Word of Life, or rather “WOF” for short.

For WOF, bipolar initially manifested in his late teens, starting with the milder symptom of hypomania. In 2018, it had developed into a full-blown psychotic episode, landing him a hospital stay. He had gone to the hospital himself to seek help, as he was under a delusion that there was an overheating robot in his head that was going to explode. WOF was diagnosed with bipolar and prescribed psychiatric medication.

The treatment took him out of mania and straight into a severe depressive episode. He even quit his job. A rapid cycler, WOF would alternate from hypomania/mania to normalcy within a matter of weeks but stay months in depression.

A Muslim at the time, WOF sought relief from Allah, but his situation only worsened. He was left to the mercy of psych meds, which brought relief “sometimes,” at the price of bad side effects. This included weight gain, excessive sleeping, and more seriously, balance issues (from Quetiapine), which could have gotten him killed. Unimpressed with the performance of the psych meds, WOF became inconsistent in taking them.

WOF gave up on Islam in spring of 2018 and became a Christian in the fall of that year. However, he did not have expectations of a miracle from God because he was used to Allah not answering him.

WOF hit his worst point in 2019 when, while in a depressive phase, he tried to get run over by a bus. Though the suicide attempt was unsuccessful, he would continue to experience thoughts of suicide when depressed.

When at the cusp of another depressive episode, WOF decided to pray, “If you can take this bipolar away from me… Lord Jesus, I’m going to take a chance, I’m going to give you all of my trust and all of my hope. Heal me from this illness.” Immediately, the heaviness and dark thoughts left him. WOF worshiped God and repented of his sins, and he had the experience of the Holy Spirit going into him and cleansing him from the inside. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, WOF then used the authority of Jesus’ name and rebuked the spirits of insanity and depression.

At the time he shared this testimony, WOF said, “When the spirit of insanity was gone, my mind was healed… spiritually, I felt something lift out of me, that was fighting to stay, and it was ripped out of me like a plant being ripped out by its roots. Like a weed. And, since that time, in mid-late September 2019, I’ve had not one symptom, not one sign of relapsing.” WOF had also discontinued his psych meds, with his doctors being forced to recognize that he was mentally sound.

Terrill Perry died in Christ and got delivered of bipolar disorder

Though he was raised by God-loving parents, Terrill was rebellious and fell away from the Christian path at a young age. In his twenties, he pursued a 8 year stint in the Marines. Upon exiting the Marines, he dealt with lack of purpose, lack of peace and increasing depression. He had also become an atheist.

Terrill turned to medication to treat the depression issue. Even though he “tried every kind of medication that there was,” his depression only worsened. The depression likely cost him a job in West Virginia; he then relocated to Florida, where he got diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the VA. Regarding his symptoms, he would experience “a longer, more gradual kind of upswing” followed by “a slam… down to the bottom” with “horrible, suicidal depression” and “every day, all day constant suicidal thoughts.” He would “be great for two weeks, or three weeks… I’d be on top of the world… and then another three-four months of just absolute, you know, horrible depression.”

During this time, Terrill had to deal with psychiatric medication and its effect on him of numbing his mind. Then, he had a thought that was not his own, and it told him, “You’re going to die.” Having had premonitions before, Terrill did not dismiss the thought. The statement was repeated in his mind, and then another thought specified he was going to die “June 22nd of 2017.”

Terrill calculated that he had approximately six months to the date. He decided to straighten out his life. Dispensing with his belongings and his apartment, he reconnected with his family in Wisconsin, whom he had been apart from for 25 years. On the way back to Florida, he lapsed into a suicidal depression while visiting a friend in Virginia. He ended up having a brief stay in VA psychiatric facility. He noted “they weren’t able to really do anything at all” for him other than offer some shelter.

Back in Florida, Terrill endured a period of homelessness, even losing his car. Eventually, he managed to secure temporary housing through a VA program.

The day finally arrived, and nothing unusual seemed to happen. In the evening, Terrill ended up researching giants on the web, looking into accounts of giant skeletons having been found on the Catalina Islands and elsewhere in the United States. At one point, he had recalled that the Bible mentioned giants. Noting how people have been covering this up, he realized, “I’ve been wrong for 25 years. God’s real.” Immediately, he repented with tears, asking Jesus for salvation.

Terrill realized, “I had been completely unhappy with my life because I didn’t have God. And I know that He heals people.” Terrill stopped taking psych meds and trusted God to heal him of bipolar. He concluded, “[W]hat I hadn’t been doing in my life was the cause of the depression. And not having a relationship with God, who is the source of life, is what was giving… me depression… [S]eparation from God is depressing, and it will kill you.”

Jesus came through for him, and Terrill no longer has bipolar disorder and no longer takes any psych meds.
